Step one.

For some of you, this will be a surprise... for others, you'd be saying it's about time.

With all of the community work and organizing I've done in the last little while, I've learned that change begins when you make a decision to do something about it. My experiences have reinforced to me that, yes you can do something about it.

This is a big step. I'm excited by the prospects ahead of me and I'm well aware of the challenges. I've had great mentors show me how it can be done and how effective a dedicated public servant can be. 

All of the stories I've heard from the many people I've met telling me about what they want for themselves, for their family and for their community have inspired me to take this step. I want to help articulate these dreams, goals and aspirations. I want to to understand, engage and involve our community and our city in a meaningful capacity that will allow for greater opportunities for positive change.

I invite you to come to the campaign launch where you can hear me elaborate on why I'm seeking the nomination to become COPE's candidate for city council. It'll also be a chance for me to hear what you have to say and what you want out of someone representing you at Vancouver's City Hall.
