The Leica Dream

After writing about my experience with the Leica M9, I was contacted by the gentleman that ran www.leicadream.com to share his experience with the camera. He's set up a great website dedicated to his dream of acquiring the Leica M9 and I gotta admit, I'm a little jealous that he thought of the idea first.

He's been featured on Wired and has received quite a bit of press on the site. He's raising funds through the sale of t-shirts and assorted goods with custom designed images of the M9 and other iconic cameras. For anyone reading this, I encourage you to visit and if you're so inclined, help the guy achieve his dream of owning a Leica M9.

He's also on Twitter and I use it to keep updated on his progress and other projects. He actually has a giveaway promo going on right now where if you help him reach a certain goal, he'll give away a Nikon SP. For you camera-heads, you know that's a quality rangefinder and you'd be hard pressed to find one just floating around nowadays. Frankly, I'm surprised he's willing to part with it.

I'm glad to have made the acquaintance of someone doing something about their dream of acquiring a Leica M9 and I'm happy to promote his website and hope he's able to achieve his dream. I wish him the best of luck and if he's able to get a second M9, I hope he'll consider me as someone who'll gladly take it off his hands :)

I'm still holding out for a ridiculously generous millionaire to hook me up with the sweet, sweet hardware.
